20th Anniversary of the Calgary Winter Olympics

Members of Skate Canada and Hockey Canada join Mayor Bronconnier, Cindy Ady, MLA and Minister Prentice at the Opening Ceremonies

Hon. Jim Prentice represented the Government of Canada at the celebration marking the 20th Anniversary of the Calgary Winter Olympics.

At the event Hockey Canada and Skate Canada signed agreements with the Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA) to relocate both national sports organizations to the Canadian Centre of Sport Excellence now under development at Canada Olympic Park. Jim Prentice confirmed a Federal Government commitment of $40 million toward the estimated project cost of $130 million. This facility will play a major role in preparing Canadian athletes to be the best in the world.
